What Must I Do To be Saved?

This message is dedicated to every person who is without JESUS CHRIST and therefore, without hope and without eternal life.

The Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son, became a man in order to go to the cross and pay the price for every sin ever committed in the human race.  That means all of your sins have been paid for and taken out of the way at the cross.  JESUS CHRIST is your savior.  So no matter what you have done, eternal salvation is just as simple as choosing to believe in JESUS CHRIST.

Acts 16:30-31a - He said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved."

Eternal life is as close to you as your soul.  In your soul you can make the non-meritorious choice for faith in JESUS CHRIST. Faith is a 'non-meritorious' choice because all the merit is in the object of faith, and the object of faith in salvation is the Lord JESUS CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 5:21 - He [God the Father] made Him [Christ] who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

JESUS CHRIST died in our place, as our Substitute, and therefore salvation is offered to as a free gift to all. To believe in JESUS CHRIST is to accept the free gift of eternal life.  To reject Him is to accept eternal condemnation.

John 3:36 - He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

In the privacy of your own soul you have freedom.  You are free at this moment to exercise faith in JESUS CHRIST and receive eternal life.  Salvation is faith alone in Christ alone.  Nothing else is required no tears of repentance, walking down the church aisle, giving up all your sins, joining the church, or any other so-called "religious" activity.  Salvation is given in grace (unmerited favor); it is not something we can earn with good deeds.

Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

Salvation is so very simple.  In the privacy and freedom of your soul, you can silently tell GOD the Father that you believe in His Son JESUS CHRIST, and at that very moment you will have eternal life, which can never be taken away, regardless of your lifestyle after salvation.

Romans 11:29 - The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

This faith is a private matter between you and GOD, and no one else.  GOD the Father provided salvation; He sent His Son, and the Son went to the Cross.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

The Father imputed your sins to the Son and judged them.  All the work has already been done for you.  All that remains is for you to accept this great gift.  You can either believe in Christ for eternal life or reject Him for eternal condemnation.  The choice is yours.
